Captain Scott Thurber leads the way to thrilling activities amidst the scenic beauty of Lake Champlain. With over 45 years of fishing expertise, Captain Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and a professional touch to every expedition. As a retired law enforcement supervisor and former member of an Adirondack Swiftwater & Ice Rescue Team, he combines his passion for fishing with a commitment to safety and precision.

Alongside him is his wife, Tricia, who occasionally serves as the first mate and imparts her fishing techniques with enthusiasm. Tricia, a teacher during the school year, has a special knack for teaching children and women aboard, often out-fishing even the most seasoned anglers. Together, Captain Scott and Tricia founded Irish Raider Outfitters, creating an environment where both beginners and experienced nature enthusiasts can thrive.

With Captain Scott holding licenses as a guide and USCG/OUPV, and the outfit being a licensed and insured guide service, your outdoor adventure is in expert hands.

Boat details:

You will be aboard the 21' Trophy (Irish Raider II) is a modern boat that was originally built in 2021. It is equipped with a powerful 150HP Mercury engine that provides reliable and efficient performance on the water. With a capacity to carry up to 6 guests, it is an excellent choice for small groups looking to enjoy a day out on the water. All of the equipment on the boat is brand new from the fish finder to the trolling motor. we have it all!

Appropriate weather clothing


Clients should bring adequate attire for weather conditions, food and drinks they desire while on the charter. All fishing equipment needed is provided by Captain. However, clients can bring they’re own gear if they desire.

DEPOSIT: A deposit is required for all bookings and will be applied at checkout 


BALANCE: The remaining balance is due on the trip date as either Credit or Cash.  


GUEST CANCELLATION: In the event that you must cancel your booking, you must do so 14 days prior to your trip date to receive a refund on your deposit. Rescheduling is encouraged and dependent on guide availability. 


GUIDE CANCELLATION: In the rare event that your guide must cancel due to inclement weather, health, or equipment issues, you will have the option to reschedule your charter for a later date or receive a refund on your deposit. 


TIPPING: Tips to your guide are greatly appreciated for your quality trip.
